CPQLTDStandards & Credentials

1 Research principles

A clear question and an appropriate methodology.

Disclosure of the data source and sample.

No fabrication of missing data.

Documentation of limitations and bias.

Protection of privacy and consent.

Disclosure of funding and conflicts.

Publication of corrections for material errors.

2 Survey requirements

A survey defines the target population, the recruitment method, the field period, inclusion criteria, the mandatory/optional questions and reasonable controls against duplication. Actual counts (n) are available alongside percentages, and results are not generalised to a whole market when the sample is limited or unrepresentative.

3 Integrity and editorial rules

Unfavourable results are not omitted simply because they do not support a marketing message. Sources are cited accurately, and reports distinguish between “what the data show”, “CPQLTD’s interpretation” and “the recommendation”. Using client or member data requires a clear basis and minimised identification.
